Zach's Writing
Zachary enjoys writing, and has done so for a variety of different publications. While the challenge of a full courseload at Columbia University have currently derailed full time writing, he occasionally publishes pieces in the Columbia Spectator. In the past, he has written for NewSchoolPolitics.com and Rev2.org, both of which are profiled below.
New School Politics
New School Politics was founded in December of 2006 by Zachary Sims, Eftychis Gregos, and Ryan Fazio. Currently, the site employs more than five writers and aims to provide political opinions and more. The site's core base of writers, mainly high school students, help to provide a new twist and opinion on what is one of the world's most popular conversation topics, politics. While the shift to college has temporarily slowed the pace of posting on New School Politics, the team looks forward to jump starting the site in 2009.
Rev2.org
Started in early 2005, Rev2.org is a weblog dedicated to profiling new Web 2.0 startups and technologies and providing indepth analysis on the state of this industry. At the time of creation, there was a lack of weblog coverage around this topic and Web 2.0 was a brand new idea gaining hype. Soon enough as new startups emerged, it became apparent that this is where the future of the web was heading. Rev2 was created to document this change. Zachary helped Rev2 to expand as Director of Content Development from May 2007-June 2008.
